1.8m x 1.8m fire blanket is made from K40 weaved twill cloth is contained in a wipeable rigid PVC outer cover which has wall mounting capabilities and fast release pull straps.

This 1.8m x 1.8m Fire Blanket works by cutting off the supply of oxygen to the fire. This will either smother the fire permanently or control it until a more effective method of fire control is employed. If an emergency situation occurs involving fire you should evacuate the area after alerting anyone else that could be in harms way. if the fire cannot be extinguisher you should contact the emergency department. You should also make sure that the fire is never between yourself and the exit and ensure that you always have an escape route.

The correct way to use this 1.8m x 1.8m fire blanket is to open it up and hold it in front of you so that it shields your face, hands and body from the being burnt by the fire. You should then try and place the fire blanket over the burning material making sure that it is covered completely.

There should be no gaps that will allow oxygen to reach the fire. You must also shut off any fuel supply or gas that may become involved in the fire. The next step is to contact the fire department if you have not already done so. The fire blanket is to be left in place for at least 30 minutes so that the oil or fat has had time to cool.
